Hannah Starkey

Poles on a side walk so lonely
washed by the dirty air.
She is being watched
by someone she doesn't even know is there.
Trees wave as if nothings wrong.
She is on the phone and somethings gone wrong.
Her life is uncontrollable
and she can't change her ways.
People are watching, trees are swaying,
poles are standing, fences are sturdy,
and the world whispers her new life
in one sentence.
